FJU TALENTS 26: Celebrating 10 Years

FJU Talents is the annual international showcase presented by the Department of Textiles and Clothing at Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU), one of Taiwan’s leading institutions for fashion and textile design education since 1970.

Created to champion the next generation of Taiwanese design talent, the platform supports selected alumni in bringing their collections to an international audience. Each year, four designers are chosen to present their work with Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week, creating a bridge between Taiwan’s emerging creative community and the global fashion industry.

In 2026, FJU Talents celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special presentation bringing together selected work from previous editions alongside this year’s collections — marking a decade of emerging voices, evolving perspectives and fashion talent from Taiwan on the international stage.

ALISON LAI

Graduated in Fashion Design from Fu Jen Catholic University, Alison’s collection explores patriarchal structures and the gaze upon the female body from a woman’s perspective. Inspired by the surreal world of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, deconstructed tailoring, distorted black-and-white stripes and vivid red express the tension between social restraint and female desire. Through sharp silhouettes and visual distortion, Alison creates a cold yet sensual language that challenges established conventions.

MIN-HSIN YU

Graduating in Textile Design from Fu Jen Catholic University, Min-Hsin’s collection draws inspiration from the contrasting sunsets of Earth and Mars, exploring the multiple facets of individuality through colour and texture. Hand crochet and ribbon yarns translate shifting light into layered surfaces, where warm orange-reds meet deep blues. Through delicate craftsmanship and contrasting hues, Min-Hsin creates an elegant balance between opposing states, revealing individuality as something in constant transformation.

TING HSUAN CHANG

Graduating in Textile Design from Fu Jen Catholic University, Ting-Hsuan’s collection Cochlea draws inspiration from parasitised snails, exploring the tension between collective belief and free will. An imaginary religion is expressed through elaborate, ritualistic silhouettes, while inverse-rib knits create distorted optical textures. Blending sacred imagery with unsettling absurdity, Ting-Hsuan uses textiles to question faith, control and individual consciousness.

YUI KAO

Graduated in Fashion Design from Fu Jen Catholic University, YUI’s collection Impulse Lover explores self-presentation and desire in contemporary romance, imagining lovers as products packaged to be desired. Genderless oversized silhouettes and cord corsets reshape conventional body codes, while Taiwanese snack packaging, heart-shaped charms and vivid red tulle collide with romantic desire. Through humour, provocation and visual excess, YUI creates a bold and inclusive queer aesthetic.
