Serina Lee is a fashion designer and artist based between Singapore and London, working at the intersection of Chinese ink painting, artisanal craftsmanship and technological innovation. Her practice is distinguished by a unique synthesis of ancient Chinese painting and calligraphic principles with sartorial design, spanning conceptual ideation, textile-making and technical drafting, with a focus on materiality and the embedded meaning of movement within a stroke.

Having studied Chinese painting since the age of seven, Lee has developed a deep foundation in the medium, translating its visual principles into a distinct design language for fashion. Drawing heavily from her heritage, she combines hand-painted textiles with intricate embroidery rooted in traditional brushwork, while reimagining dress for the digital age through physical garments and immersive virtual environments.

Recognised internationally through honours including the Harper’s Bazaar Asia NewGen Fashion Award and the Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery, Lee’s work seeks to propel traditional crafts into the future.
