London, UK based Fashion Designer Stevie Crowne produces collections by reimagining, reinventing, and repurposing top quality vintage and thrift styles. Primarily focusing on sustainable practices, he upcycles his findings into fresh, bespoke, and contemporary fashion garments. Each Spring-Summer & Fall-Winter, eclectic, thematic collections are manifested that are both socially driven and equally individualistic.

AXIS FW22 is a collection that will be an equal mix between sophistication and edginess, a merge between fantasy and modernity; a collection for the modern day gods, goddesses, and heroes. AXIS is a style adventure and exploration, and it’s destination being a redefined rebellion- an aesthetic rooted in the Stevie Crowne brands DNA but with the added twist of Classical Greek mythology archetypes. The collection storyline itself will begin in the underworld, where Hades and Persephone reign, and as the collection progresses, we will be inspired by gods of the land; passion, emotion, & talent, such as Aphrodite and Eros. The collection will finish quite literally in the clouds, with looks inspired by Zeus and Hera, the original Olympians.

AXIS COMMENTARY: AXIS is an exploration into the roads less travelled in life; a dedication to those who defy the norm. I conceptualized this collection during my travels to Italy in the Summer of 2021. It’s about travelling distances far and wide, and continually running into yourself no matter what- and then finding out who you are there. In these times of doubt but confidence, love but loss, happiness but catharsis, do we ever really find our own unique Axis. We may struggle to find ourselves, but when we do, we eventually find our place in a world where we can live on a frequency that is authentic and true to ourselves and those around us.

On a personal note, I’ve romanticized what my struggles and successes mean to me; to acknowledge how I got here and what it took to get here. I want to tell my story the way ancient Greeks told their stories and to define my story with my collections. With AXIS specifically, I wanted to view the parallel universes between what is found in mythology and with the world we currently live in.

It’s almost as if reality is too much to handle but fantasy can get too delusional- I’m aiming for an equilibrium where the balance of these two things live in harmony.
